AUTUMN TERM
Continuous assessment and final assessment classes in
delegated subjects chart the students’ progress.
The classes are informal and not pre-scheduled. Students
will be observed by two teachers and graded by specified
set criteria. The tutors will discuss the results with
the directors when final marks are prepared. The students
will be given their marks. A copy will be sent to the
parent(s) or legal guardian if circumstances require.
SPRING TERM
Partial assessment is by continuous observation. Towards
the end of the term each student is required to present
a short assessment piece in dance, drama or song. These
will be performed for an invited panel of professionals
from different areas of the theatre. Their comments, observations
and opinions will form the final part of the term’s
assessments. The panel will earmark the pieces that they
consider have special merit. Each student is required
to keep a journal. They are submitted for inspection at
this time. Students will have tutorials with the group
tutor to discuss the process and outcome of the assessments.
The best of the performance pieces will be presented to
an invited audience.
SUMMER TERM
Progress will be determined by continuous assessment.
This will include the end of year performances. Graduates
of the three year course will discuss their progress,
achievements and future prospects with the directors.
Group tutors will counsel year one and two. If special
circumstances arise the directors will conduct the interview
privately.
